2008 Letters of Endorsement

I'd like to add my voice to the chorus of support for Bob Judge.
I've lived in town for a dozen years, but didn't meet Bob until last spring, when we both got involved in the "Save the Castle" effort. In that town matter, and others which have come up since, I've been deeply impressed by everything that Bob has done. He is thoughtful, judicious, gracious, and generous. He listens well, sees the big picture, and offers input which is always on time and on target. He is there for others, loves his town, and has a great sense of humor. He is low-key, and high-powered. I think that his work ethic, open-mindedness, knowledge of the people and issues, and smarts will make him a real asset on the Selectboard. Thank you, Bob, for everything that you have done for South Hadley already, and for your efforts in the years ahead.
— Jeremy King

I finally was able to watch the Channel 15 program for your candidacy for Select Board Member. Congratulations! Great questions, eloquent and thoughtful responses.
— Martha Terry, 25 Brainerd Street

Congratulations on your decision to run for Select Board—you will be a great asset to South Hadley in that role. It is evident from your interest and involvement with many town committees and organizations that you really care about South Hadley and its residents. I have been very impressed with your work for the South Hadley Historical Society,
and your efforts to bring together the many historical resources the town has in order to serve those individuals who are seeking information, and to preserve our town's heritage.
— Criss Quiqley, 41 Hadley Street

You have my complete support. You are the best organized person I know and I have full confidence your ideas will contribute greatly to South Hadley.
— Ken Williamson, 43 Woodbridge Street

We are thrilled to hear that you are running. You'll be such a positive asset and the fresh voice of reason that is needed to the Board! You clearly have shown your knowledge of important issues and commitment to South Hadley through years of service…
— Alison O’Donald, 301 North Main Street

I want you to know that I am very pleased at your decision. I know you have the interest of all the South Hadley Citizens present and future at hand. I think you have a lot of citizens who value your idealism and convictions, and have seen the efforts you have put into various committees and organizations.
—Margaret Jodoin, 7 Birch Hill Road

I am very pleased to endorse Bob Judge for a seat on the South Hadley Selectboard. I have known Bob since he and his wife Brenda became my next door neighbors 15 years ago. Over that time, I have found both him to be a person of the very highest integrity and I value him as a friend. From the time I have known Bob, he has always been interested in, involved with and has truly cared about the issues and events that affect the citizens of the Town of South Hadley. This is evidenced by his involvement in various capacities of Town Service—Town Meeting Member from Precinct B, Member of the Zoning Board of Appeals, and the Personnel Board. Most recently he has served as President of the South Hadley Historical Society and is presently the President of the Historical Commission. Bob is the type of leader who will listen to the opinions of the citizens of South Hadley on issues and can be trusted to make sound decisions which are in the best interest of the Town.
—Margaret (Peg) Sullivan, 174 North Main Street

I endorse Robert Judge for a seat on the South Hadley Selectboard and recommend a vote for him for one of the two open positions on the board in the April election.
Bob Judge has many characteristics that will make him an effective member of the Selectboard. His experiences make him knowledgeable about town government. He is intelligent and well trained in many ways, including dealing with personnel, planning, and facilitating the work of boards and committees. He listens to people and then makes up his mind, with willingness to explain his views clearly and to consider them further in the light of new information. His respect for other people and capacity for hard work will allow him to improve the functioning of the South Hadley Selectboard.
—Robert L. Robertson, 11 Stanton Avenue

Bob…I was excited and thrilled to hear you are running for the Select Board. I cannot think of a better candidate than you. You are honest, fair, thoughtful, intelligent, and all in all a rather upstanding gentleman. Wayne and I support you 100% and we will engage others in sharing our enthusiasm as well. Our hope for South Hadley is an improved school system and less development of land. We know you will bring new ideas and perspective to your office…We wish you the best of luck and hope to see you in that seat after April 8. Go Bob!
—Suzanne Cordes, 20 College View Heights
